Portrait of Olga in an Armchair

Alone she waits

And stares with a pale expressionless face

It is he she blames for the tragedy her life has become

No makeup can hide her eyes that swell with obvious misery.

Vibrant colors surround her fragile body

But the cold black empowers all with its bold embrace

It clings to her body’s shell

But also to her longing heart.

Her life

Is a train car full of coal

With no fire to spark the desire within

Nothing to consume her

And make her move forward

Her little hand holds tight to a painted wooden fan

But it feels a loaded silver gun

Something to make her feel better

And smile in the end
